I spent some time after finalising some concept designs to begin the turnarounds of Ryan. The markings are a bit difficult to get right all the way around- but I'm feeling good about the way he looks. Next: Bella. (First draft designs, these could change as I go further/keep drawing them and exploring them- it was a useful task to get to grips with anatomy and start designing them in this format)
I also tried to start a little bit of storyboarding, this scene would take place a few nights after Bella's arrival to the family. When Ryan is starting to feel worn down and finally accepting her. The idea of chipping away slowly at a storyboard bit by bit will help me solidify the story, be able to move scenes around visually and more easily for myself- and hopefully will allow me to get a clearer and more successful story solidified.

Hi Ren. Good to see you moving into storyboards. My advice (to help you work a little freer and quicker) is to start with very rough storyboards (post-it -note style, stick figures, text etc) to work out the story. If you draw too detailed the drawings become too precious and you'll find it hard to reject them if the story isn't working. At this stage the story is the most important thing, everything is in service of that. Figure that out and everythign else will fall in place.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll give that a go. Thanks Alan
