Reflective Statement:
I will say I wish I could have managed to keep up properly with all the Maya work, but it was a massive struggle for me to learn to juggle everything. I learned about the importance of my hard drive and USB when losing things in Maya, nothing is more frustrating. However, despite these obstacles I'm still incredibly proud of how far my skills in Maya have come, just looking at my Fantastic Voyage work with a completely rigged fish with a human skeleton, I can see how I've come, from nothing to understanding the basic principles in Maya, plus adding 2D lip syncing into Maya too! Modelling, rigging and animating is something I find incredibly fun and I'm looking forward to doing more over the summer to learn more techniques. I struggle a lot with lighting in Maya, it's something I can't quite wrap my head around, along with rendering with conductor. But I can say I'm almost understanding UVing a lot better- so texturing is getting a little easier! There are so many components to Maya that it scrambles my brain a bit- but I can safely say that I'm thrilled with my progress and understanding over the past few months. Messing around freely in Maya is such a large reward, it's something I've always wanted to do.
