So, Louis and I spent a lot of time exploring the world of sound together outside of the house. We took time to walk around and try out varieties of different sounds in shops, on walks and around the university and accommodation too. I wanted to get a real feel for a bit of everything, so while exploring was cool and exciting because I never knew how interesting certain sounds could be, I also wanted to check out things I had around me to see what I could make in response to my 3 images. So this led to me playing with my tattoo gun and seeing what frequencies it made and how it responded with the microphone. Then it led to me popping open the hood of my car and playing around with what was inside and what sounds the engine made uncovered. I also used my tripod to put the microphone in places I couldn't always reach or get close enough too (which was a little risky at times), which was really helpful and really fun. I tried a lot of things I haven't ever thought of doing to make a sound before, like using a cup to make bubbles, exploding a pen to use as a straw, or exploring my engine, playing with a piece of meat (my dinner afterwards as well...), getting my dogs to check out the device, and playing with hair products and going outside and looking very odd outside with a tripod and something that isn't a camera. But it was really fun, I collected A LOT of interesting sounds that I'm excited to put together!
