Today we had a look at creating a cartoon bouncy ball, a bowling ball, ping pong ball and a tennis ball. To do this we used arcs to firstly map out the movement and spacing of where the ball would travel. Then we used squashing and stretching when the ball hit the floor marks between bounces in order to make it appear like a cartoony bouncy ball. I really enjoyed doing the first one using squashing and stretching and am pleased with the overall result.

For the ping pong (red) and tennis ball (grey) they had a series of frames to make them bounce vertically, side by side they show the different illusions of weight, the tennis ball begins to roll away with tiny bounces while the ping pong ball continues to bounce with tiny spacing between each frame and the ground.
The bowling ball really stumped me- I redid it about 12 times, but this is the best version I came out with. It shows the weight and I understand the principles behind it- its fast when falling, heavier on the ground and therefore moves a bit slower than the other balls when they roll.
