This week we looked at posing and body language. We were put into groups and had to pose our scenarios while the other members drew the pose. I found this really hard because I can't tell what lines to exaggerate or the proportions of each one. So this is something I've taken on board.

I didn't get as much done as I would have liked to in this session because I really struggled to get my head around what I should be doing. The calligraphy style is quite overwhelming, especially alongside all the Japanese features that I want to keep within the art where possible. So when talking to Justin, I started thinking about making the temple like a 2D video game level- this helped to spiral into a story I can hopefully work with a bit easier- so that my Ninja can make his way through it and defeat monsters on his way to his objective: The calligraphy brush.

I was then able to go ahead and think of monsters to come out of pools or splats of ink throughout the temple, the ink monsters. They have a spirit-esc quality about them while remaining cute and simple for the style. The Ninja will then be able to use his sponges and brushes to tackle/absorb the monsters who protect the brush temple.
